Position Overview

Work Environment

We are looking for candidates who are willing to relocate and embrace the challenges of mountain driving.

Responsibilities
  • Expertly operate and navigate straight or articulated trucks to transport various goods and materials.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of the vehicle, including tires, lights, brakes, and cold storage equipment.
  • Perform necessary brake adjustments and ensure the vehicle is in optimal condition.
  • Carry out pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections, overseeing all vehicle aspects.
  • Communicate effectively with central dispatch to relay important information.
  • Maintain accurate records of cargo details, service hours, distance traveled, and fuel usage.
  • Ensure the safety and security of cargo through proper tarping techniques.
Required Certifications
  • Possession of a Class 1/1F/A Licence for semi-trailer trucks.
  • Valid Driver's License (Class 1 or A).
Documentation Skills
  • Familiarity with accident or incident reports.
  • Ability to manage bills of lading and driver logbooks.
  • Experience with inspection reports and trans-border documentation.
  • Competence in preparing trip reports.
Type of Trucking
  • Experience with refrigerated and tractor-trailer units.
Travel Experience
  • Long-haul and national travel experience is essential.
Safety and Security
  • Completion of a criminal record check and driver's validity license check.
  • Driving record check (abstract) and drug testing are mandatory.
Physical Requirements
  • Attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks.
  • Comfortable with prolonged sitting.
Weight Handling
  • Ability to handle weights up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
Personal Equipment
  • Must possess a cellular phone, steel-toed safety boots, and gloves.
