Ghent Landscape is seeking a dedicated Landscape Crew Leader to enhance our commercial landscape construction division. Compensation: $25-$30 per hour, based on experience

Benefits: Available after the probationary period, with RRSP matching offered after one year of service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in leading a landscape crew to accomplish on-site tasks efficiently.
  • Support projects involving retaining walls, interlocking patios, excavations, and other hardscape or earthworks initiatives.
  • Safely operate heavy machinery such as skid steers, mini excavators, and loaders.
  • Engage with clients and colleagues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors to ensure job satisfaction and project success.
  • Adhere to company health and safety training and reporting protocols.
  • Work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Provide your own CSA-approved safety boots.
  • Be prepared to work 40-55 hours per week, including some weekends as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years of relevant experience in landscape construction is required.
  • Familiarity with various heavy equipment used in landscape construction is preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
  • Previous leadership experience is a significant advantage.
  • Capability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently while following instructions.
  • Safety-conscious mindset.
  • Problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues as they arise.
  • Punctuality and a personable demeanor are essential.
  • Completion of WHMIS and Occupational Health and Safety Awareness training is required.

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Expected Hours: 40 – 55 hours per week
