In this pivotal position, you will be instrumental in fostering positive interactions between our organization and our valued employees. Your responsibilities will encompass providing guidance and assistance to supervisors, managers, and directors in various areas, including: performance management, interpretation of human rights and employment legislation, workforce planning, and the elucidation of Kwanlin Dün employment and human resources policies, including occupational health & safety regulations, as well as employer and employee rights and responsibilities.

Required Qualifications (what we look for on your resume):

  1. Diploma in Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, or a related discipline. Equivalency will be considered for those with extensive relevant experience;
  2. Experience in offering advice and support to partners/clients in areas such as labour relations, accommodations, or human resources;
  3. Demonstrated understanding of HR practices and government/labour legislation, including the Canada Labour Code;
  4. Experience in recruitment, selection processes, and performance management;
  5. Certification in conflict resolution or mediation is advantageous.

Required Knowledge and Skills (what we assess):

  1. Strong interpersonal abilities and capacity to cultivate and sustain relationships;
  2. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills;
  3. Excellent critical thinking capabilities and problem-solving skills;
  4. Detail-oriented approach;

Familiarity with Kwanlin Dün First Nation governance, community heritage, culture, social structure, language, and traditions is essential for success in this role.

Conditions of Employment: An acceptable pre-employment criminal records check with vulnerable sector search, valid class 5 Driver's License.
