OYATO FOOD INC. is seeking an experienced Assistant Buyer to join our team. As an Assistant Buyer, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining contact with suppliers, negotiating prices, and selecting and purchasing merchandise for resale.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish and maintain contact with suppliers to negotiate prices and credit terms.
  • Select and purchase merchandise for resale, ensuring adequate stock levels.
  • Review requirements of the establishment and determine quantity and type of merchandise to purchase.
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive working relationship with suppliers.
  • Visit trade shows, showrooms, factories, and product design events to stay up-to-date on industry trends.
Requirements:
  • College/CEGEP degree or equivalent experience.
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a related field.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
Work Environment:

OYATO FOOD INC. is a wholesale establishment/store located in an urban area. The successful candidate will be required to travel regularly, both domestically and internationally, and be willing to work extended periods.
