Job Title: Registered Dietitian

We are seeking a part-time Registered Dietitian to join our acute inpatient team at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will have a strong theoretical and practical knowledge of nutritional status and needs of acute care patients. They will be able to effectively develop and implement nutrition care plans for patients with acute and medically complex nutrition needs, including the provision of patient education.

Responsibilities:
  • Assess and develop nutrition care plans for patients with acute and medically complex nutrition needs
  • Provide patient education on nutrition and health
  • Collaborate with the interprofessional treatment team to provide comprehensive patient care
  • Document patient information and progress
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited program in Human Nutrition or equivalent
  • Successful completion of 1 year Dietetic Internship
  • Member in good standing with the Ontario College of Dietitians - mandatory
  • Member of Dietitians of Canada - mandatory
  • Evidence of continuing education in Acute Care Dietetics
Competencies:
  • Ability to function co-operatively as part of an interprofessional treatment team
  • Comprehensive assessment, treatment, and documentation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Sound clinical judgment, flexibility, and initiative
Working Conditions:

The Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre operates 24/7, and the successful candidate will be required to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, and nights.
