Industrial Mechanic Specialist

As a vital member of our team, you will be expected to operate in a safe and effective manner, adhering to Johnson Electric's Health & Safety Policies and Quality Systems. Familiarity with SPS, 5S, and Continuous Improvement (CI) practices is essential. Your primary role will involve the installation, inspection, adjustment, and repair of machinery while strictly following safety protocols.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Interpreting diagrams and schematic drawings to establish work procedures.
  • Installing stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment according to layout specifications using both hand and power tools.
  • Utilizing hoisting and lifting devices to position machinery and components during installation, setup, and repair.
  • Conducting inspections and examinations of machinery and equipment to identify irregularities and malfunctions.
  • Adjusting machinery and repairing or replacing defective components as necessary.
  • Operating machine tools, such as lathes and grinders, to fabricate parts needed for maintenance or setup.
  • Performing routine maintenance tasks including cleaning and lubricating machinery.
  • Constructing foundations for machinery installations.
  • Assembling machinery and equipment prior to installation using various tools and welding equipment.
  • Ensuring compliance with the Quality Management System and Environmental Health and Safety Systems.
  • Other related duties may be assigned as required.

Our requirements include:

  • A High School diploma or equivalent.
  • A college degree or Trade School Certification.
  • Three to five years of relevant experience.
  • A solid background in hydraulics and pneumatics, along with some welding skills.
  • Ability to work indoors in a potentially noisy environment with varying temperatures.
  • Willingness to engage in physically demanding tasks, including heavy lifting and climbing.
  • Capability to lift a maximum of 50 lbs.
  • Flexibility to work shifts that may include days, afternoons, nights, or continental schedules.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed.

Proficiency in English (both spoken and written) and Mathematics is required.
