The Registered Nurse in the Anaesthesia Care Unit, under the supervision of the Patient Care Manager, is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for patients.
This role involves the development, implementation, evaluation, and modification of individualized care plans.
The nurse will collaborate within a multidisciplinary clinical team, adhering to established protocols and standards.
Qualifications and SkillsMust hold current registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives.
Completion of a postgraduate critical care course or equivalent practical experience is required.
Core CompetenciesStrong communication abilities.
Capability to perform CPR and other emergency procedures.
Experience working within a multidisciplinary team.
Strong decision-making and analytical skills.
Effective conflict resolution techniques.
Physical capability to fulfill job responsibilities.
Key ResponsibilitiesConducts thorough reviews of patient status.
Assesses patient needs, formulates care plans, and evaluates patient outcomes.
Monitors patient progress and adjusts care plans as necessary.
Accurately documents observations and reports any changes in patient condition.
Provides direct nursing interventions during critical situations.
Ensures accurate documentation and assists patients during transfers.
Identifies and addresses patient educational needs.
Facilitates group sessions and offers clinical guidance to team members.
Engages in nursing orientation and educational initiatives.
Supports nursing research efforts and advocates for patient rights.
Performs additional related duties as required.
