Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Journeyperson Electrician to join our team at our Esterhazy, SK location. The successful candidate will safely and efficiently perform electrical installation and maintenance duties in an assigned area on an assigned shift.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install and commission new electrical equipment in the low, medium, or high voltage ranges.
  • Troubleshoot and repair DC and AC control equipment and power equipment up to 72,000 volts.
  • Test, start, stop, isolate, ground, reset, adjust, calibrate, remove, dismantle, clean, repair, rebuild, replace, and inspect electrical equipment.
  • Safely use tools and instruments common to industrial electrical shop and field work.
  • Operate mobile equipment, including overhead and mobile cranes.
  • Work on energized high voltage equipment.
  • Perform breakdown maintenance troubleshooting and repair without assistance from drawings.
  • Recognize and recommend equipment and materials suitable for use in an industrial potash environment.
  • Complete exam and task sheets on equipment usage.
  • Draft field schematics.
  • Participate in firefighting duties as a member of the shift fire crew.
  • Interpret and carry out written or oral instructions and make written reports as required.
  • Adhere to relevant legal environmental requirements and OH&S regulations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • A valid Journeyman's License in accordance with the Electrical Inspection and Licensing Act of the Province of Saskatchewan, Department of Labour, including a minimum of 12 months' experience in electrical installation and maintenance in an industrial plant.
  • A thorough working knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code and its applicable supplements.
  • A complete understanding of acceptable safety procedures relating to work on site involving energized or deenergized electrical equipment.
  • Employment is subject to successfully completing Mosaic's pre-employment checks, including criminal, drug, and alcohol testing.

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to safely perform the essential functions of the job without posing a direct threat to the safety of his or her own self or others.
  • Able to lift approximately 0-25 lbs occasionally.
  • Able to climb stairs and work at various heights.
  • Able to distinguish varying or specific colors, patterns, or materials.
  • Able to hear, with or without correction.
  • Able to read, write, and understand basic English.
  • Able to see, with or without correction.
  • Able to use fine hand motor skills.
  • Able to wear a respirator.
  • Able to work rotating shifts and overtime as required.
  • Must be able to work a 12-hour shift.
  • Must be authorized to work in Canada.
