Job Title: Apprentice Carpenter

At Chandos, we're seeking a skilled Apprentice Carpenter to join our team. As a key member of our construction team, you'll play a vital role in constructing and maintaining buildings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lay building foundations and ensure a solid base for our structures.
  • Prefabricate, erect, and remove structural formwork for concrete foundations, wall columns, beams, slabs, and shafts.
  • Make repairs to internal and external structures, ensuring they're safe and secure.
  • Cement work, including mixing and pouring material, and framing for stairs and cement.
  • Assemble and fasten materials to create framework or props, using hand tools and wood screws, nails, dowel pins, or glue.
  • Construct and maintain structural woodwork, shelving, flooring, tables, chairs, and other essential building components.
  • Perform renovations as required, ensuring our buildings remain safe and functional.
Qualifications:
  • Currently indentured into an Apprenticeship Program, Carpenter.
  • Two or more years of experience as a carpenter.
  • Currently working in the trade.
  • Motivated, hardworking, and able to work long hours and Saturdays if needed.
  • Knowledge of carpentry and building maintenance.
  • Knowledge of safe operation of basic hand and power tools.
  • Knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures.
  • Mathematical and analytical skills necessary to do material and labor estimates.
  • CSTS training is a prerequisite for employment. If you don't have this training, it can be made available.
