Position Overview

The Optical Assembly Technician will be responsible for assembling and troubleshooting optical systems in accordance with established manufacturing protocols and AS9100 standards. This role involves collaboration with various departments, including Engineering, Optics, Coating, Machine Shop, and Quality Assurance, to ensure compliance with customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble and troubleshoot optical assemblies while adhering to all manufacturing processes and procedures.
  • Repair or modify existing optical assemblies as needed.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product quality and compliance with standards.
  • Contribute to the development of new products, including testing, assembly processes, and documentation.

Required Skills

  • Proficient in using measuring tools, lasers, and optical alignment equipment.
  • Experience in an AS9100 and Lean Manufacturing environment is advantageous.
  • Exceptional manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Able to read and interpret technical drawings accurately.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality assurance.
  • Effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills for teamwork.
  • Competent in MS Office and familiar with relevant software applications.

Education and Experience

  • Diploma in Photonics/Optics or equivalent experience.
