Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Apiary Technician to join our team at Poelman Apiaries Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining our bee yards and beekeeping equipment, working with honey bees, and harvesting crops.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain the bee yard and beekeeping equipment
  • Work with honey bees
  • Harvest crops
  • Perform general farm duties
  • Interact with bees based on your knowledge of their biology, behavior, ecology, and caste system
  • Manage apiary and honey harvesting operations
  • Operate automated honey extractors
Requirements
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Physical stamina to handle heavy loads
  • Attention to detail and hand-eye coordination
  • Ability to distinguish between colors
  • Team player with excellent communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in apiary management
  • Previous experience working with honey bees
