Job Title: Education Assistant Level 1

We are seeking a qualified Education Assistant to support students in our schools.

Job Summary:

Under the supervision of a teacher or administrator, the successful candidate will provide support to students, including tutoring, modifying teaching materials, and monitoring student behavior. The role may also involve supervising students during lunch and on buses.

Requirements:
  • 6 months of relevant training, including an Education Assistant certificate or equivalent education and experience
  • Familiarity with special education technology
  • Proven ability to learn new technology and possess strong literacy, numeracy, and English skills
  • Ability to develop rapport with students and work in a team setting
  • Strong interpersonal skills, initiative, flexibility, and good communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Bilingualism in French and English is required
Working Conditions:

The successful candidate will work in a school setting, with a schedule dependent on student needs. Services will not be required on In-Service and Non-Instructional Days.

Compensation:

The hourly wage for this position is $28.15.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference will be given to qualified applicants who self-declare Indigenous ancestry.
