We are seeking a highly skilled Public Relations Specialist to join our team at the Sexual Assault Support Centre of Waterloo Region. As a key member of our communications team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective communication strategies to promote our services and support the mission of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Communication Strategies: Create and execute communication plans to promote our services, raise awareness about sexual assault, and engage with our community.
  • Manage Public Relations: Develop and maintain relationships with media outlets, respond to media inquiries, and craft compelling press releases and media advisories.
  • Write and Edit Content: Write and edit engaging content for our website, social media, and other communication channels, including press releases, media advisories, and other materials.
  • Coordinate Events: Plan and coordinate events, such as press conferences, media briefings, and other activities to promote our services and raise awareness about sexual assault.
  • Monitor and Evaluate: Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of our communication strategies and make recommendations for improvement.
Requirements
  • Education: College or CEGEP diploma in a related field, such as communications, public relations, or marketing.
  • Experience: 3 years of experience in a related field, such as communications, public relations, or marketing.
  • Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, strong organizational and time management skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and other communication tools.
