Job OverviewWe are seeking a Quality Engineer to enhance our product quality initiatives. This role involves collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders, focusing on Lifecycle Services & Solutions related to Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMR). The successful candidate will implement effective preventive quality measures to ensure excellence in product design and operational processes.
In this capacity, you will collaborate with a dedicated team to elevate quality standards for Clearpath Robotics and our clients. The ideal candidate will possess strong teamwork skills, working alongside cross-functional teams to establish and pursue quality objectives across various projects. The ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and apply lessons learned is essential. Strong interpersonal skills are crucial for fostering effective relationships with product management, program management, engineering, and manufacturing teams. You will monitor progress towards established quality goals through the systematic collection and analysis of product and project data. Experience in hardware development and an understanding of quality management principles are required.
Candidate ProfileThe ideal candidate is driven and views their work as more than just a job. You are passionate about making a significant impact in your role and enjoy tackling challenging and rewarding problems. We are looking for an experienced quality engineer to further enhance our quality assurance and control processes.
Basic Qualifications- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
- Legal authorization to work in Canada is required.
- Knowledge of Lean or Six Sigma methodologies
- Familiarity with products from Rockwell Automation is advantageous
- Ability to work effectively in teams
- Proficiency in software tools, primarily Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, and Power BI
- Strong communication skills for providing feedback and responses
- Project management capabilities for addressing customer and product issues
- Develop and execute a quality management strategy to enhance the quality of our solutions.
- Foster collaborative relationships with peers, leaders, and stakeholders.
- Engage with global teams to ensure quality objectives are met.
- Establish metrics and dashboards for ongoing visibility into quality goals.
- Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance quality and resolve customer issues.
- Conduct Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) to address systemic issues.
- Facilitate retrospectives for continuous improvement.
- Interpret technical documentation related to product usage.
- Perform risk assessments and implement preventive action plans.
- Maintain a focus on prevention and timely issue resolution.
- Accountable for high-quality performance throughout the product lifecycle.
- Utilize strong analytical and problem-solving skills to drive results.
- Experience with statistical and metrology tools.
- Familiarity with ISO/ANSI standards.
- Ability to read schematics and identify mechanical/electrical components.
- Proficient in manipulating 3D models and engineering drawings in Solidworks.
- Knowledge of developing quality standards, inspection plans, and work instructions.
- Understanding of mechanical/electrical defects.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Certified Quality Engineer accreditation (ASQ or similar).
- Training in IPC standards or equivalent.
