Position: Sheet Metal Punch Press Technician

Are you detail-oriented and have a strong interest in sheet metal fabrication? We are currently seeking a dedicated punch press technician to contribute to our production process. This role offers opportunities for professional growth, including internal training in punch press programming.

The position operates on a day shift schedule, with hours from Monday to Thursday, 7 am to 4:15 pm, and Friday from 7 am to noon. You will report directly to the production supervisor and will be tasked with the operation of a punch press, making necessary adjustments, and ensuring the production of components that meet strict specifications while maintaining a safe working environment.

Your primary responsibilities as a punch press technician will include:

  • Assessing the quality of raw materials;
  • Ensuring compliance with technical drawings;
  • Programming the punch press;
  • Operating the punch press efficiently;
  • Making necessary adjustments to the machine;
  • Maintaining the quality of produced items;
  • Reporting any discrepancies or issues;
  • Adhering to all safety protocols within the organization.

The qualifications required for this role are:

  • A vocational diploma in precision sheet metal work or equivalent training/experience in metal fabrication;
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar CAD software (beneficial for programming tasks);
  • Understanding of numerical control systems on punch presses;
  • Strong collaborative spirit;
  • Ability to read and interpret technical production plans;
  • Capacity to maintain an efficient production pace;
  • Ability to perform under pressure;
  • Attention to detail;
  • Proficiency in working with imperial measurements (inches).
