Job Description

WEST Inc is seeking a highly skilled Senior Wetland Biologist to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading wetland assessments, impact studies, and restoration projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct wetland assessments, classifications, and impact studies
  • Develop and implement wetland restoration plans
  • Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to deliver high-quality projects
  • Manage and supervise junior staff members
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance on wetland-related projects
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments, best practices, and regulatory requirements
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in biological sciences, environmental sciences, or a related field
  • At least 10+ years of experience in wetland assessment, impact studies, and restoration
  • Valid driver's license with no restrictions
  • Wetland classification skills in boreal, parkland, and prairie habitats
  • Experience with Esri ArcGIS Pro and Desktop Suite, QGIS, and/or Google Earth
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Wetland practitioner status or immediately eligible
  • P. Biol. or BIT (or other PRO-10) designation or immediately eligible
  • Experience conducting wildlife surveys, water quality monitoring, or fisheries
  • Experience with soils and/or vegetation surveys
