The Electronic Technician is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of instrumentation and computer-based control systems. This role requires a high level of technical expertise and attention to detail to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the rig.
Key Responsibilities- Operation and Maintenance: Daily operation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of computer, instrumentation, and communication systems to secure their operation.
- Technical Compliance: Ensure that technical systems and associated electrical equipment are in accordance with regulations.
- Reporting and Documentation: Keep a maintenance log and prepare reports on technical systems, including any modifications or updates.
- Work Area Management: Maintain a clean and organized work area, tools, and parts.
- Spare Parts Management: Order spare parts through the immediate superior as required for planned and non-planned maintenance and repair.
- Electrical Safety: Ensure that all work on electrical installations is performed in accordance with valid safety regulations, technical regulations, and relevant procedures.
- Emergency Response: Participate in emergency response activities as per the unit's emergency organization.
- Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Education: Electronic Technology or Engineering Degree.
- Experience: 1+ years' experience as an Electronic Technician on 6th Generation Ultra-Deepwater Semi-Submersible or similar installation.
- Skills: Previous High Voltage and Low Voltage Experience, Hazardous Area Equipment Training or Equivalent, experience on Thruster DP 3 operation, and proficiency in electrical testing meters and equipment.
- Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Screening: Must pass Physical, Drug Screen, and Background/Pre-Employment Screening Checks.
