Position Overview:

The Senior Manager of Component Supply Chain Planning is tasked with overseeing the material supply team dedicated to the procurement strategy for components essential to support production operations. This role encompasses managing a diverse vendor portfolio while leading a team of Planners and Senior Planners to meet critical performance metrics such as inventory management, supplier delivery reliability, and order accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and nurture a high-performing team focused on maintaining optimal material inventory levels to meet production and service objectives.
  • Manage the escalation process for any material-related challenges.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and internal procurement teams to establish service agreements, supply strategies, and enhance forecasting accuracy.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to refine existing processes and develop new methodologies, ensuring departmental efficiency aligns with supply chain goals.
  • Take ownership of component planning through effective purchase order management, vendor communications, and support for the internal production schedule.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for ongoing enhancements to boost performance through operational efficiencies and team accountability.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Key Relationships:

  • Coordinate with finished goods planners to align production schedules.
  • Engage with S&OP partners for strategic planning and customer demand fulfillment.
  • Work alongside the quality team to resolve issues and provide guidance.
  • Collaborate with transportation teams for shipment coordination.
  • Partner with NPD for new product launches and development initiatives.
  • Engage with procurement for material cost management and supplier strategies.
  • Manage inventory levels and drive efforts to minimize excess and obsolete stock.
  • Ensure purchase orders comply with minimum order quantities for cost-effective procurement.
  • Oversee the purchase order approval process and document justifications for material excess and obsolescence.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in planning within the consumer goods sector, preferably in cosmetics.
  • Proficient in SAP and other Microsoft applications (Outlook, Excel, Word) relevant to planning functions.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple competing demands effectively.
  • Strong communication skills across various functions and organizational levels.
  • Commitment to driving results through a focus on continuous improvement.
