We are seeking a skilled Painter and Decorator to join our team at Cheemsbro Custom Homes Ltd. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality finishes on our interior and exterior projects.
Key Responsibilities- Surface Preparation: Prepare, clean, and sand surfaces to be painted, ensuring a smooth and even finish.
- Repair and Maintenance: Repair cracks and holes in walls and surfaces, and perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure the longevity of our finishes.
- Paint and Finish Application: Mix and apply paint, wallpaper, and other materials to interior and exterior surfaces, achieving a high-quality finish that meets our company standards.
- Estimation and Planning: Estimate costs and materials required for each project, and plan and coordinate the application of finishes to ensure timely completion.
- Training and Development: Instruct apprentices and provide on-the-job training to ensure the development of our team members.
- Project Coordination: Read blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements, and coordinate with other team members to ensure the successful completion of projects.
- Newcomer Support: Assist newcomers and refugees with foreign credential recognition, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in their roles.
- Youth Support: Offer on-the-job training tailored to youth, providing them with the skills and experience needed to succeed in the construction industry.
- Visible Minority Support: Provide diversity and cross-cultural training to create a welcoming work environment for members of visible minorities, promoting inclusivity and respect within our team.
- Work Term: Permanent position with a regular schedule.
- Work Language: English.
- Hours: 32 to 40 hours per week.
