Statutory Property Guardianship Coordinator

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Statutory Property Guardianship Coordinator to join our ReAct Adult Protection Program team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting vulnerable adults and ensuring their safety and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the ReAct Director, Health Authority Designates, and other stakeholders to receive and assess reports of suspected financial abuse, neglect, and self-neglect.
  • Provide empathetic and professional support to vulnerable adults, their families, and caregivers, while maintaining confidentiality and discretion.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners to promote and enhance services provided to vulnerable adults.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of financial incapability, adhering to legislated compliance and Ministry of Health directives.
  • Track, analyze, and report client feedback activities in the BC Patient Safety & Learning System (PSLS) ReAct.
  • Provide analytics support to the Regional Director, Managers, and Adult Protection Leads in the tracking, management, and resolution of patient/client/resident issues.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a relevant health sciences discipline.
  • Three to five years of recent, related public and client relations experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with the public and staff in a courteous, tactful, and diplomatic manner.
  • A high degree of discretion and maturity in handling confidential information in sensitive and potentially emotionally charged situations.
  • Resilience and self-care skills necessary to withstand daily exposure of stories of suspected violence, abuse, and self-harm.
