**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Maintenance Technician or HVAC/G1 Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Bluewater District School Board. As a key member of our maintenance staff, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our electrical systems and facilities.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Respond to repairs and maintenance needs of electrical systems and associated controls
  • Perform service, maintenance, and other duties as assigned related to the repair and operation of the Board's buildings, equipment, and sites
  • Work as a team player with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Prioritize work orders and complete tasks efficiently
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with colleagues and stakeholders
  • Work with minimal supervision and be competent in the use and care of tools and equipment common to the trade
  • Demonstrate keen problem-solving abilities and implement effective solutions

**Requirements:**

  • Successful completion of an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent, preferably in a technical program
  • Journeyman status with a Certificate of Qualification from the Ministry of Education, Skills, and Apprenticeship Branch as a licensed tradesperson in Ontario (Electrician - Construction and Maintenance 309A or HVAC/G1 required)
  • Minimum of three or more years of experience in the electrical/HVAC trade with specific duties related to operation and maintenance
  • Knowledge and experience in the use of a wide variety of trade-related and maintenance tools/equipment
  • Knowledge of associated government codes and demonstrated ability to work within those laws and guidelines
  • Knowledge and experience with finishes and hardware in an institutional and commercial setting
  • Must be physically fit and capable of performing a variety of maintenance tasks

**Preferred Qualifications:**

  • Knowledge of DDC Control Systems (preferably Siemens)
  • Knowledge of computerized databases and work order systems
  • Journeyman status as a plumber, gas license
