Position Overview

The Automotive Sales Consultant plays a crucial role in engaging with potential customers to assess their vehicle preferences, showcasing features, facilitating test drives, and guiding them through the sales paperwork. Sales professionals are expected to meet monthly sales targets by adhering to a structured daily work plan focused on sales activities and delivering outstanding customer service from the initial interaction to the final sale.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcome and assist customers entering the showroom, fostering a professional environment that enhances automotive sales and customer satisfaction
  • Provide expert answers to inquiries regarding new and used vehicles, performance, financing, and application processes
  • Utilize strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with customers during their vehicle selection and payment process
  • Maintain an organized customer database to drive current and future sales
  • Conduct test drives and vehicle demonstrations
  • Employ negotiation skills to facilitate sales while ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Proactively reach out to potential buyers to schedule appointments and meet productivity goals
  • Follow up with previous clients to encourage repeat business and referrals while maintaining high customer satisfaction
  • Stay updated on dealer group and manufacturer training requirements
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old to meet insurance criteria
  • Possess valid documentation for employment and a current CA-issued Driver's License
  • Pass a pre-employment background check and MVR screening
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a customer-facing role, preferably in retail or sales
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including standing, walking, and lifting
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated competitive spirit and resilience to achieve sales goals
