Position Overview:

The role of the Technical Sales Representative at CB Canada involves a comprehensive approach to driving sales and enhancing product specifications within the mechanical sector.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Formulate a tactical plan alongside the Regional Sales Manager (RSM) and Business Unit Sales Manager (BVSM) to identify and pursue critical opportunities and accounts, aiming to meet sales targets and elevate the specification status of our offerings.
  • The strategic plan should encompass specific, measurable goals and objectives.
  • Establish financial targets that reflect a commitment to substantial growth.
  • Oversee the execution of the strategy, focusing on increasing product acceptance among engineers, owners, and contractors. Maintain an account/product acceptance matrix for ongoing review with the RSM and BVSM.
  • Implement plans that are project-centric, coordinated by the Regional Balancing Specialist, ensuring effective communication and collaboration with regional teams.
  • Acquire in-depth knowledge of system design, major equipment functions, reading plans, balancing component applications, project design cycles, and competitive product insights relevant to the territory.
  • Foster relationships with key influencers and decision-makers within each account to optimize product sales and specification opportunities. This includes active participation in local associations and regular attendance at meetings and events.
  • Deliver presentations to associations, mechanical engineers, and owners to advocate for the balancing concept.
  • Establish yourself as the technical authority on balancing, hydronic troubleshooting, and project take-offs in the region, with a target of completing a minimum of five take-offs and quotes or BOM conversions weekly. Ensure new construction opportunities are quoted pre-bid, in collaboration with the RSM and local team members.
  • Document all activities meticulously to comply with management reporting standards.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or business.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in external sales related to construction and mechanical products, with proficiency in interpreting hydronic system design plans.
  • Demonstrated strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and a professional demeanor. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Exceptional organizational and problem-solving abilities, with a solid mechanical aptitude.
  • A collaborative team player who is competitive, adaptable, and self-driven.
