About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at PyroGenesis Canada Inc., a world leader in the design, development, and commercialization of advanced plasma processes. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will play a key role in the mechanical design of gas treatment equipment for biogas recovery and industrial gas purification.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop mechanical systems for gas treatment equipment, including pressure vessels and process piping
  • Perform mechanical strength calculations for pressure vessels and piping systems according to ASME and CSA codes
  • Support structure calculation for vessels and skids
  • Prepare MTO (Material Take-off) and TPS (Technical Purchase Specification) for procurement of materials
  • Develop detailed general arrangement drawings, fabrication drawings, and layouts using Autodesk Inventor, Solid Works, or CADWorx
  • Assist the sales team in preliminary weight estimation and layout drawing
  • Interact with customers and vendors to clarify technical requirements
  • Supervise the procurement and fabrication of equipment, both internally and externally
  • Identify and supervise external consultants as required
  • Supervise system installation and start-up
  • Perform other duties as required by the immediate supervisor
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • Member of the OIQ (Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec) is mandatory
  • Demonstrated leadership and managerial ability, with strong references
  • Expertise in design and mechanical strength calculation of pressure vessels
  • Proficient in 2D drafting, 3D modeling, drawing review, and checking
  • Experience with 3D modeling software such as Autodesk Inventor, Solid Works, or CADWorx is an asset
  • Organized individual with strong team player skills, able to deliver projects on time and under pressure
  • Willing to travel overseas as required
  • Knowledge of French and English (written and spoken) is an asset
  • At least 5 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer
  • Relevant experience in pressure vessel design, calculations, and modeling is mandatory
  • Experience in the petrochemical sector is an asset
  • Experience in gas emission system design, process gas, and biogas purification and upgrading equipment design is an asset
