Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Activity Aide to join our team at Extendicare Canada Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and implementing activities that promote the physical, emotional, and social well-being of our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement activities that cater to the diverse needs and interests of our residents
  • Assess activation needs and develop programs to promote engagement and participation
  • Collaborate with the Resident Programs Department to ensure seamless delivery of programs and services
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in recreation and leisure studies, therapeutic recreation, Registered ECE, Social Service Worker, kinesiology, or other related field
  • 1-2 years of experience in a long-term care setting, preferably in activity coordination or a related field
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Technical competencies in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
