We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in the Emergency Department at Ridge Meadows Hospital. As a Registered Nurse in this role, you will provide high-quality patient care, work collaboratively with the interprofessional care team, and contribute to the development and implementation of care plans.
Responsibilities- Assess patients and collect information from various sources to inform nursing diagnoses and develop care plans.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and caregivers to promote person-centered care and ensure patient autonomy and dignity.
- Participate in the care and discharge planning process, ensuring effective communication with the interprofessional care team and Patient Care Coordinator.
- Coordinate nursing care, prioritize tasks, and delegate responsibilities to support staff as needed.
- Collaborate with the interprofessional care team to identify and resolve issues, adjust care plans as required, and address changes in patient condition.
- Teach patients and families about illness prevention, health restoration, and health maintenance to support self-care and discharge planning.
- Document assessments, nursing diagnoses, observations, interventions, patient responses, outcomes, and referrals according to practice standards and Fraser Health procedures.
Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM). Completion of the applicable post-graduate specialty nursing course/program and/or willingness to complete the applicable post-graduate specialty nursing courses/program. Current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS).
