About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Supervisor to join our underground maintenance team at our Ojibway Mine location. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supervising unionized skilled trades employees and overseeing maintenance and preventive maintenance on stationary and mobile equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the work of skilled trades employees, ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
- Develop and implement maintenance plans to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance.
- Conduct daily inspections to identify potential issues and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations and resolve any issues that may arise.
- Provide training and coaching to employees to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties safely and effectively.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies, including OHSA regulations.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in maintenance supervision, preferably in an underground environment.
- Industrial Mechanic (433A) or Diesel Mechanic (310T) trade certification is an asset.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and direct a team.
- Ability to read and understand technical manuals, blueprints, and hydraulic schematics.
- Knowledge of hydraulics, welding, rigging, diesel repair, basic electrical, and plumbing.
