Support Worker

WoodGreen is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Overnight Support Worker to join our team. As a key member of our support staff, you will provide essential services to our residents, ensuring their safety and well-being during nighttime hours.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide reception services to staff and residents, ensuring a welcoming and secure environment.
- Monitor activities in common areas and the outside perimeter of the building, responding promptly to any issues or concerns.
- Implement crisis response strategies, including de-escalation and support, when necessary.
- Complete hourly rounds on participant floors, checking on residents and addressing any needs or concerns.
- Provide after-hours supportive counseling to residents, offering emotional support and guidance.
- Redirect visitors and respond to issues appropriately, maintaining a safe and respectful environment.
- Perform lock-up and alarm duties in accordance with established procedures.
- Respond to the 24-hour resident personal alarm system, providing timely assistance when needed.
- Understand and operate the emergency response system, contacting the 24-hour response team as necessary.
- Carry out appropriate First Aid responses, when necessary.
- Work effectively with other team members, including on-site Personal Support Workers, to address resident and building issues.
- Complete a detailed participant activity log and shift exchange, reporting any incidents, occurrences, health and safety risks, and resident interpersonal conflicts.
- 2-year diploma in social services or certification in security.
- 3+ years of experience working with older adults and/or seniors with mental health, addictions issues, and street involvement.
