Position Type: Full-Time
Under the supervision of the Program Manager and Case Manager, the Case Worker plays a vital role in delivering a comprehensive range of effective and culturally sensitive rapid services to participants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with participants to create a detailed goal plan that is regularly reviewed and adjusted based on Housing First principles;
- Develop and provide support tailored to the individual beliefs and aspirations of each participant, integrating traditional Métis teachings with access to modern physical, emotional, and psychological services;
- Offer personalized services or case plans to each participant across various housing-related domains;
- Facilitate both individual and group activities, including personal counseling sessions and Sharing Circles;
- Organize and engage in community social activities with participants;
- Maintain meticulous and accurate records of all participant interactions, home visits, appointments, agency referrals, and document progress towards achieving set goals and objectives.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- A Bachelor of Social Work or a comparable combination of education and experience may be considered;
- At least two years of experience in frontline Case Management;
- Familiarity with community-based resources and their accessibility;
- Understanding of issues related to addictions, attachment, mental health, and trauma and their effects on families;
- Knowledge of Child and Family Services (CFS), Employment & Income Assistance (EIA), and other relevant systems;
- Strong assessment abilities and experience in conducting investigations, including information gathering and analysis to implement suitable actions;
- Experience in fostering a strong, respectful team-oriented approach to service delivery;
- Background in working with not-for-profit organizations and Indigenous communities is advantageous;
- Familiarity with Métis culture, MMF programs, and services is a definite plus;
- Willingness to travel, possess a valid Manitoba Driver's license, and have access to a reliable vehicle.
