Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for processing laboratory specimens, entering requisitions and results accurately and in a timely manner, and ensuring quality control checks and standards are met. This is a permanent, full-time position working Monday to Friday from 2:00 to 10:00 with rotational Saturdays.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process laboratory specimens and enter requisitions and results accurately and in a timely manner
  • Ensure quality control checks and standards are met
  • Follow established protocols for specimen processing and handling
  • Provide exceptional customer service and handle client inquiries and problems in a courteous and professional manner
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • Completion of secondary-school level education and a recognized Medical Laboratory Assistant training program
  • Experience providing exceptional customer-focused service in a demanding and frequently changing environment
  • Demonstrated ability to self-manage, prioritize, and collaborate in a team-oriented, high-volume, time-sensitive environment
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) at an intermediate level
  • Knowledge of laboratory procedures and ability to apply that knowledge in troubleshooting issues and providing recommendations for solutions
Working Conditions:
  • Normal office environment
  • Medical laboratory environment
  • Required walking with repetitive motions
  • May sit or stand for prolonged periods with extensive computer use
  • Required to lift a maximum of 30 pounds as required
  • Exposed to biohazardous substances, temperature differences, and noise variances
