About This Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Hospitalist Medicine Specialist to join our team at Dartmouth General Hospital (DGH). As a Hospitalist, you will provide direct patient care for patients admitted to the hospitalist service, ensuring all laboratory, imaging, and other reports are received and reviewed in a timely manner.

The ideal candidate will have excellent clinical skills, a strong commitment to delivering high-quality care, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. You will be responsible for coordinating care with members of the interprofessional team, participating in quality process evaluation and improvement, and attending site-based physician meetings as required.

DGH is an acute care hospital with 24-hour emergency, inpatient, and outpatient services, serving approximately 300,000 people each year. Our hospital offers a range of medical and surgical services, including general surgery, urology, gynecology, and more.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care for patients admitted to the hospitalist service
  • Ensure all laboratory, imaging, and other reports are received and reviewed in a timely manner
  • Coordinate care with members of the interprofessional team
  • Participate in quality process evaluation and improvement
  • Attend site-based physician meetings as required
Expected Hours
  • Locum, full-time, or part-time positions available
  • Flexible schedule, including weekend and overnight call
Qualifications
  • Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
  • Eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC)
  • Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
