Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in Advanced Metals Processing

The Department of Materials Engineering at The University of British Columbia seeks a highly qualified candidate for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Advanced Metals Processing. The successful candidate will have a strong background in developing mathematical models and conducting experiments to analyze and optimize metals manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities- Develop an independent, internationally recognized research program in metals processing and additive manufacturing.
- Teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels, including courses in materials engineering and related fields.
- Supervise graduate students at the Masters and Doctoral levels.
- Provide service to the University and the broader community, including participation in departmental and university-wide committees.
- Ph.D. in Materials Engineering or a related field.
- Demonstrated expertise in metals processing and additive manufacturing, including solidification, casting technologies, and other related manufacturing technologies.
- Strong background in developing mathematical models and conducting experiments to analyze and optimize metals manufacturing processes.
- Excellent teaching and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students.
- Postdoctoral research experience in metals processing and additive manufacturing.
- Experience in supervising graduate students.
- Publication record in top-tier journals in materials engineering and related fields.
