Job Title: HR Generalist

Kap Paper Inc. is seeking an HR Generalist to enhance the site's Human Resources function. This role involves advisory responsibilities, influential leadership, and expertise in diverse HR areas.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Promote and support Health & Safety programs to increase employee awareness.
  • Support compliance with collective agreement and sound union/management/employee relations.
  • Build and maintain business relationships with stakeholders, understand their needs and issues, and play a key-role in realizing their business objectives.
  • Support staff and unionized employees.
  • Maintain benefit programs with third-party stakeholders.
  • Investigate employee concerns regarding STD and LTD.
  • Provide consistent interpretation and counsel for collective agreements application in alignment with business priorities and objectives.
  • Provide regular reviews of workforce requirements to achieve operational goals and forecast job vacancies.
  • Apply and ensure effective implementation of HR policies and procedures in compliance with applicable legislation.
  • Assist and support all return-to-work (RTW) initiatives.
  • Keep up to date with HR trends and regulation changes.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or Industrial Relations - an asset.
  • Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation - an asset.
  • 3+ years' experience in an industrial unionized environment.
  • Business acumen, sound judgment, strong analytical skills, and ability to multi-task.
  • Leadership, interpersonal, and communications skills.
  • Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Human Resources Information System (HRIS).
  • Bilingual: English and French (spoken and written) - an asset.
