Job Title: Network Support Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Network Support Technician to join our team at IronOak IT Inc. as a permanent full-time employee.

Job Summary:

The Network Support Technician will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and administering local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), mainframe networks, and computer workstations and peripheral equipment. This role requires a strong understanding of computer hardware, networking software, and operating system software.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and troubleshoot LANs, WANs, mainframe networks, and computer workstations and peripheral equipment
  • Evaluate and install computer hardware, networking software, and operating system software
  • Provide problem-solving services to network users
  • Implement data, software, and hardware security procedures
  • Perform routine network start-up and close-down and maintain control records
  • Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations
  • Set up local area networks and connections to the Internet
  • Implement network traffic and security monitoring software and optimize server performance
  • Supervise technical staff
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in network support and maintenance
  • Strong understanding of computer hardware, networking software, and operating system software
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
