Job Opportunity

Branksome Hall, a leading independent International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, is seeking a qualified and experienced Occasional Supply Teacher to provide classroom coverage on an as-needed basis in the Junior School.

Key Responsibilities
  • **Create a Supportive Learning Environment**: Establish a classroom atmosphere that fosters learning and personal growth, incorporating Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) principles.
  • **Build Strong Relationships**: Develop supportive rapport with students and colleagues, promoting a sense of community and inclusivity.
  • **Deliver Engaging Lessons**: Implement lesson plans, allowing for differentiation of learning for all students, as assigned by the classroom teacher.
  • **Supervise and Support**: Supervise students during lessons, recess, and lunch, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • **Utilize Technology**: Leverage relevant technology to enhance instruction and support student learning.
Requirements
  • **Qualifications**: Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution, Ontario College of Teachers certification or equivalent degree with Primary/Junior qualifications, and a minimum of 1-2 years of teaching experience.
  • **Specialized Skills**: Specialty in French, Phys Ed., or Music is an asset, as is experience in and knowledge of IB.
  • **Personal Qualities**: Proven ability to establish a caring rapport with students, strong oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
