Join Our Team as a Continuing Care Assistant

Health Association Nova Scotia is partnering with the Department of Seniors and Long-term Care to provide recruitment support to continuing care employers in Nova Scotia. We are seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our team as Continuing Care Assistants.

As a Continuing Care Assistant, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and interdisciplinary team that provides exceptional long-term care and home care services. You will be responsible for assisting clients with various personal care activities, performing light housekeeping duties, and providing respite for families and caregivers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Perform light housekeeping duties, including cleaning and laundry.
  • Assist clients with meals and between-meal refreshments.
  • Provide respite for families and caregivers.
  • Document client progress and concerns.
  • Engage residents and families in leisure and recreational activities.

Requirements:

  • Provincial Continuing Care Assistant Certification.
  • Related education and/or work experience, or enrollment in the CCA RPL Program.
  • Students in nursing, CCA programs, and international educated nurses are also eligible.
