Key Responsibilities
  • Crop Management
    • Assist in the cleaning and maintenance of crops to ensure optimal growth and yield.
    • Grade vegetables and fruits into different categories based on size, shape, color, and volume to maximize market value.
  • Harvesting and Processing
    • Harvest seedlings and other crops as required.
    • Level earth to fine specifications for optimal crop growth.
    • Mix fertilizers according to established protocols.
    • Bud trees to promote healthy growth.
  • Teamwork and Support
    • Work collaboratively with other farm laborers to achieve team goals.
    • Participate in government or community programs that support newcomers and refugees.
    • Assist with the settlement needs of newcomers and refugees, including housing, transportation, and storage.
    • Support the social and labor market integration of newcomers and refugees through language training, skills training, and mentorship programs.
    • Recruit newcomers and refugees who were displaced by conflict or natural disaster.
    • Support foreign credential recognition and provide diversity and cross-cultural training to create a welcoming work environment.
  • Support for Indigenous People
    • Participate in government or community programs that support Indigenous people.
    • Offer mentorship, coaching, and networking opportunities for Indigenous workers.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with Indigenous communities, businesses, and organizations.
    • Provide cultural competency training and awareness training to all employees.
    • Facilitate access to Elders who can offer support and guidance to Indigenous workers.
    Requirements
    • Education
      • No degree, certificate, or diploma required.
    • Experience
      • Will train on the job.
    • Work Environment
      • 35-37 hours per week.
      • English language required.
