About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Data Transformation Specialist to join our team at Affinity Group. As an Agile Data Developer, you will play a key role in decommissioning legacy Informatica workflows and migrating them to AWS.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze and Assess Existing ETL Workflows

Assess existing Informatica ETL workflows, mappings, scripts, and processes to understand the data transformation logic and identify areas for improvement.

Develop and Implement Custom ETL Processes

Develop, test, and implement custom ETL processes that ensure data integrity and meet business requirements, leveraging your expertise in Informatica, Teradata, AWS, and ETL processes.

Optimize ETL Workflows for Performance and Scalability

Optimize ETL workflows for performance, scalability, and reliability within AWS, collaborating closely with our AWS Engineers to design efficient ETL pipelines that integrate with other AWS services.

Validate Transformed Data

Validate transformed data through unit tests to ensure accuracy and consistency with the original Teradata source, and troubleshoot and resolve issues with data ingestion and transformation.

Provide Ongoing Support

Provide ongoing support for the transformed ETL jobs, including performance tuning and optimizing resource usage in AWS, and collaborate closely with our QA Specialist and Data Analyst to ensure that data validation and reconciliation processes are accurate and timely.

Requirements
  • Strong Background in Informatica, Teradata, and AWS

You will need a strong background in Informatica, Teradata, and AWS, as well as experience working with cloud migration projects, especially decommissioning legacy ETL environments.

Proficiency in SQL and Shell Scripting

Proficiency in SQL and experience working with shell scripting (bash, ksh) and SQL-based scripting for automation are essential.

Experience with Agile Environments

Experience working in Agile environments and using collaboration tools like Jira and Confluence is also required.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with AWS Glue and Redshift

Experience with AWS Glue for ETL transformations, AWS Lambda for orchestration, and Redshift for data warehousing is highly desirable.

Excellent Communication Skills

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across technical and non-technical teams are essential.
