Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cook to join our team at Black Fin Sushi. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality meals, managing inventory, and maintaining a clean and safe working environment.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and prepare menus, estimating food requirements and costs
  • Determine food portion sizes and costs
  • Supervise kitchen staff and helpers, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality food preparation
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and order supplies and equipment as needed
  • Clean and maintain kitchen and work areas, adhering to health and safety standards
  • Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff to achieve team goals and objectives
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a similar role
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to maintain a clean and safe working environment
Working Conditions
  • Restaurant setting
  • 30 to 40 hours per week
  • Permanent position
  • English language required
