The Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA) is seeking a dedicated Mental Health and Wellness Liaison to support Indigenous youth and their families within our Child and Youth Mental Health Program. This role plays a vital part in ensuring culturally safe care by bridging the gap between healthcare services and community resources.
Your Responsibilities:
- Integrate Indigenous wellness perspectives into patient care plans, advocating for holistic well-being.
- Coordinate comprehensive care for patients, connecting them with relevant community services and support networks.
- Champion the needs of patients and families, ensuring their voices are heard and their rights are respected throughout their healthcare journey.
- Cultivate strong relationships with community agencies and healthcare providers to facilitate seamless transitions and collaborative care.
Your Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences or a related field.
- Registration with a relevant professional regulatory body.
- Demonstrated experience working effectively with Indigenous populations.
- In-depth understanding of psychosocial needs within mental health care, particularly for youth.
- Familiarity with Indigenous traditional health practices and perspectives.
