This role is responsible for the development, coordination, and maintenance of data and reports in support of the Region's waste audit programs. The successful candidate will also be responsible for compiling, collecting, documenting, analyzing, and reporting on qualitative and quantitative research from multiple systems. Additionally, the candidate will provide support with budget tracking, procurement activities, and coordinating projects.
Key Responsibilities:- Organize and oversee waste audits at Region-owned and other waste management facilities.
- Maintain databases and dashboards, including data verification, data upload, data sharing, and data presentation.
- Collaborate with external and internal stakeholders to resolve conflicts, support data analysis requests, and report on findings to inform waste policy decision-making and/or master plan implementation.
- Prepare, develop, and maintain accurate reports through analysis and summarizing of data and information from multiple systems.
- Compile data for management in preparation of KPIs, budget, and forecasting activity; analyze results to identify trends and variances.
- Review and report on data, investigate issues, and provide further information to management as requested.
- Prepare contract documents and purchase orders for authorization, ensuring all documents are properly executed prior to commencement of work.
- Assist in the development of public and invitational tender packages for distribution to proponents by reviewing, editing, and organizing documentation.
- Verify invoices against contract provisions to ensure that amounts and other terms and conditions are being respected.
- Develop and maintain relevant research products, metrics, and statistics to monitor and evaluate relevant program performance.
- Analyze data and prepare statistical information and/or reports; monitor and review quantitative and qualitative information to identify trends.
- Successful completion of a Community College Diploma in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field, or approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of financial systems, data tracking, report generation, and project management software.
- Demonstrated skills in data management and analysis.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to connect with a range of internal and external stakeholders while focusing on fostering collaborative work relationships.
- Demonstrated knowledge of relevant Standards, Acts, and Regulations.
- Demonstrated ability in York Region corporate core competencies.
- Strong ability to develop relationships and work in a welcoming and inclusive environment, where diversity is celebrated and where everyone can develop to their full potential.
- Ability to work independently and with teams and with ability to manage competing priorities.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office suite and database software and knowledge of virtual platforms for conducting meetings and/or presentations.
- Valid Ontario Class 'G' driver's license free of serious offenses under the Highway Traffic Act.
- Ability to work outside regular business hours, as required.
