Job Overview:
The Canadian Consortium on Neurodegeneration in Aging (CCNA) was formed in 2014 with the aim of fostering collaborative research in dementia across Canada, supported by various funding partners including non-profit organizations and pharmaceutical companies.
The Network Coordinator will assist the Program Director and the CCNA management team by providing essential administrative and project coordination support. This role encompasses various responsibilities such as progress reporting, information gathering, and the coordination of program policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Organize and coordinate the annual progress reports to CIHR for the BRAIN and CCNA grants, ensuring adherence to deadlines and maintaining high-quality materials.
- Collaborate with the CCNA Director to draft new policies and amend existing ones, along with any relevant documentation pertaining to CCNA's operations.
- Manage the CCNA's monthly newsletter, which involves gathering information, writing content, and disseminating the newsletter.
- Facilitate manuscript submissions to the Publication and Data Access Committee (PDAC).
- Coordinate documentation for new CCNA affiliate applications, including maintaining an updated list of affiliates with contact details.
- Develop metrics to assess CCNA's impact in the field of dementia research in Canada, in collaboration with the Program Director.
- Lead or actively participate in most CCNA committees to ensure compliance with CCNA policies and procedures.
- Enhance network development and cohesion by creating and distributing newsletters/messages to CCNA affiliates and partners, sharing key information on organizational activities and funding opportunities.
- Work closely with communications and knowledge translation staff to ensure effective dissemination of information regarding CCNA.
- Maintain regular communication with CCNA's International Scientific Advisory Board, the Strategic Advisory Council, and other CCNA committees, coordinating regular meetings.
- Perform other relevant tasks as they arise.
Qualifications:
- Relevant undergraduate degree from a recognized post-secondary institution.
- Three to four years of experience in administrative coordination, preferably within research operations or management.
- Strong administrative and organizational skills.
- Excellent project management capabilities with the ability to prioritize effectively in time-sensitive situations.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders.
