Key Responsibilities of the Flight Attendant include:

  • Preparing the aircraft for passenger boarding while maintaining a thorough understanding of the service and safety protocols for the flight.
  • Engaging with passengers through personal interactions and general announcements in a friendly, professional manner.
  • Welcoming passengers and interacting with them throughout the journey to foster a comfortable and inviting atmosphere.
  • Ensuring compliance with essential safety procedures.
  • Collaborating with the flight deck crew (pilots) to guarantee a seamless and well-managed flight experience with effective communication.
  • Delivering inflight snack, meal, and beverage services, along with the sale of onboard merchandise.
  • Assisting with the operation of the inflight entertainment system.
  • Supporting passengers with various needs, including carry-on baggage storage, seating arrangements, and overall comfort.
  • Managing onboard incidents and emergencies efficiently.
  • Addressing medical situations or emergencies, including administering First Aid as necessary.
  • Maintaining the overall cleanliness and orderliness of the aircraft.
  • Ensuring that customer feedback is communicated to management and actively participating in enhancing Air Canada Rouge's service quality.
  • Completing and submitting required safety documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A valid Canadian Passport without restrictions is necessary.
  • Must reside within 90 minutes of Toronto Pearson Airport or be willing to relocate.
  • Ability to obtain a Transport Canada security clearance.
  • Access to the internet for last-minute updates and communications.
  • Comfortable working at high altitudes in a pressurized environment.
  • Previous customer service experience is an asset.
  • Flight Attendants perform safety-critical duties; therefore, candidates must meet Air Canada Rouge's medical standards, which include a medical evaluation and drug and alcohol testing, ensuring a clear status regarding intoxicating substances.

Language Proficiency:

  • Fluency in both English and French is preferred.
  • Additional language skills in Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, Greek, Italian, Hebrew, Japanese, German, Punjabi, Hindi, Cantonese, Mandarin, and Korean will be considered an advantage.
