Senior Staff Accountant Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Staff Accountant to join our team at Prasad & Company LLP. As a key member of our accounting team, you will be responsible for managing client engagements, providing exceptional customer service, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality audit and assurance services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a portfolio of client engagements, including Compilation, Review, Audit, and corporate/personal tax filings.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, providing proactive and responsive service to meet their needs.
  • Identify and resolve audit and accounting concerns in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Develop a deep understanding of clients' business, financial, and tax affairs.
  • Deliver industry and technical expertise through client interactions, reports, and management presentations.
  • Manage project financials, including budgets, WIP, and timely billing.
  • Think strategically about client needs, identifying opportunities to maximize relationships and deliver added value.
  • Monitor project timelines, adjust as necessary, and advise clients of project status.
  • Assign tasks and manage workflow to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Maintain high-quality control by reviewing work for accuracy and completeness.
  • Contribute to the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processes.
  • Build relationships with client groups and coordinate engagement preparation.
  • Ensure firm policies and standards are maintained, and accounting and audit standards are met.
  • Collaborate with the Tax Department to optimize tax provisions.
  • Actively manage staff performance and development goals.
  • Develop, coach, and train team members towards professional and personal development.
Requirements:
  • Advanced knowledge of ASPE, CAS, and Canadian review standards.
  • CPA designation with membership in good standing with CPA Ontario.
  • A minimum of 4 years of public accounting experience as a Staff Accountant.
  • Team player with excellent communication skills.
  • Strong self-starter with organizational, analytical, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Working knowledge of CaseWare, Jazz IT, and Profile or Tax Cycle is an asset.
  • Intermediate user of Microsoft Office Suite.
