The Contract Specialist role at BCLC is a critical position that requires a high level of expertise in contract management and procurement services. As a Contract Specialist, you will be responsible for providing effective professional contract management and procurement services through timely, accurate, and effective development, negotiation, and execution of commercial-term contracts/documents.
Key Responsibilities- Support business units in the procurement process, providing guidance and advice on contract management and procurement best practices.
- Develop, negotiate, and execute commercial-term contracts/documents, ensuring compliance with relevant statutes and internal policies.
- Monitor contract execution and manage relevant data within specialized software programs.
- Enhance the contract management process within the organization by recommending opportunities for process improvements.
- Contract management skills, able to read through a contract and connect provisions to the scope of work and identify risks and considerations to address.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to build relationships with different groups and personalities to work towards a common goal.
- Critical thinking skills, able to make complex decisions regarding sourcing contracts and see the bigger picture.
- Ability to provide feedback, guidance, and keep on track with procurement policies.
- Customer service mindset, proactive, and able to manage own time.
- Familiarity with ServiceNow, iValua, and SAP.
- Paralegal or Legal Assistant certification or legal experience.
- 2-3 years business-related role with a minimum of 1 to 2 years contract drafting experience.
