**About Treaty Three Police Service**
Treaty Three Police Service (T3PS) is a growing service that’s responsible for policing duties spanning 55,000 square miles of the Greater Treaty Three Region. We offer competitive salaries, pension, benefit coverage and room for opportunity and advancement.
Treaty Three Police Service is currently looking to a hire **one full-time permanent CPIC Operator for our North Kenora Detachment**. The CPIC Operator’s primary function is to receive, enter, modify and transmit confidential information pertaining to property, guns, marine, vehicles and persons into the Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC) and other computerized information systems.
**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Receives confidential documents, ascertains their nature e.g., type of warrant, and in priority sequence, enters information regarding property (guns, securities, articles, etc.), vehicles, marine, persons, i.e. missing, wanted and charged persons, etc. into CPIC;
- Creates CPIC entries for detachments, GHQ investigative units and other agencies, and updates the applicable Records Management System (RMS), as required;
- Maintains quality of data/information by ensuring that received information is complete and free of discrepancies and errors;
- Verifies that received documents correspond to Niche RMS reports and court documents;
- Follows up on insufficient unclear or incorrect information with court personnel, uniformed officers or other detachment personnel to obtain additional information or clarification;
- Enters, modifies and removes CPIC entries, ensuring that updated information does not conflict with existing documentation in the system;
- Removes expired files on monthly purge lists and checks contents for errors and discrepancies, making necessary corrections;
- Processes and maintains fingerprint information and criminal identification photographs in accordance with relevant legislation;
- Be willing to work evenings and weekends;
- Performs other duties as assigned.
**Education/Experience/Skills Training**
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent;
- Successfully pass an on-line CPIC Course of the Canadian Police Knowledge Network (CPKN), and be willing to attend and participate in all required training programs as instructed;
- Be of good moral character with no criminal record for which a records suspension (pardon) has not been received or an absolute/conditional discharge that has not been sealed;
- Knowledge of and skills in personal computer operation and specialized programs such as CPIC Niche RMS & Criminal Justice Information Management (CJIM) is required;
- Superior written communication skills and advanced computer skills including expertise on related software MS Office - Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint is required;
- Organization and time management skills, including ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure;
- A high degree of professionalism and awareness to Indigenous culture and traditions;
- Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
