Position Overview:

Work schedule is Monday to Friday from 6 AM to 3 PM (flexible hours, including weekends as required).

As an Equipment Maintenance Specialist, you will oversee the daily operations and upkeep of tools within the rental division. Your primary responsibility will be to deliver exceptional service to clients by ensuring that all equipment is dependable and well-maintained. A comprehensive understanding of all tools is essential, as you will be tasked with managing the inventory effectively, maintaining and repairing tools as needed. This role also includes forecasting and ordering necessary parts for repairs, utilizing a computer system for transaction processing, training associates on proper tool handling and maintenance, and performing general maintenance duties to keep the workspace organized and clean.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Forecasting and maintaining an adequate supply of repair parts
  • Utilizing manuals and vendor information to diagnose issues and restore equipment
  • Cleaning, inspecting, and preparing tools for customer rentals
  • Ensuring timely repairs and availability of rental tools while minimizing costs
  • Processing rental transactions, including logging repairs, generating contracts, and managing deposits
  • Training sales associates on tool operation and minor repairs
  • Assisting customers by providing information and addressing inquiries
  • Ensuring proper display, signage, and maintenance of rental equipment
  • Troubleshooting and performing maintenance on all equipment
  • Demonstrating hands-on knowledge of all products in the department
  • Operating the cash register and adhering to all related procedures
  • Maintaining a comprehensive understanding of tools, including maintenance, repair, and proper usage
  • Analyzing information to identify potential issues and proposing effective solutions
  • Delivering outstanding customer service
  • Adhering to safety expectations as outlined in the company's Environmental Health & Safety Management system.

Required Experience/Knowledge:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum tenure in the position and performance management code requirements
  • The ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • A thorough understanding of policies and procedures related to customer service
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities
  • Knowledge of tools, including maintenance, repair, and proper usage.
