Position Overview
  • Oversee the engineering, design, development, validation, timing, and production launch of Power Tops, Sunroofs, and Drain Tubes.
  • Assume complete ownership of components, ensuring alignment with vehicle functional objectives.
  • Duties also encompass component design, development, and packaging.
  • Conduct Design Verification Plan & Report (DVPR) testing.
  • Manage CAD models within Teamcenter.
  • Implement weight reduction, cost-saving, and efficiency enhancement initiatives.
  • Communicate technical product status to management effectively.
  • Additionally, provide support to vehicle assembly plants regarding product technical issues, assist service teams with field warranty concerns, and engage in root cause analysis of failures.
Candidate Qualifications
  • Experience in sunroof, power top, or convertible top engineering, or familiarity with mechatronic components (such as latches, window regulators, interior mirrors, and seats).
  • Knowledge of Tier 1 mirror suppliers, including Webasto, Inalfa, CIE Golde, and Magna Car Top Systems.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field from an ABET accredited program, with a minimum of 2 years of design, release, and CAD packaging experience.
  • Experience in releasing both mechanical and electrical components.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal abilities.
  • Capacity to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including spreadsheets, word processing, presentations, and databases.
