Position Overview:
We are seeking an Integrity Engineer to become an integral part of our team of Integrity professionals. The successful candidate will be tasked with the development, implementation, and maintenance of our Integrity Risk Management protocols, procedures, standards, and guidelines. This role involves conducting Integrity assessments and advocating for the Integrity Risk Model and Risk Management strategies among internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure the development, implementation, and maintenance of Integrity Risk Management processes in compliance with regulatory requirements, effectively managing the organization's risk exposure.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure operations are conducted safely and in accordance with corporate policies and applicable regulations.
- Lead the design and implementation of the Risk-Based Integrity Management Program (RBIM) to prioritize maintenance and inspection tasks for tanks, pressure equipment, and piping systems.
- Coordinate the collection and input of Risk Model Data, analyze risk model outputs for pipeline and facility piping, and audit processes for compliance and enhancement.
- Facilitate stakeholder discussions to identify risks, develop mitigation strategies, and scope work for inclusion in budget planning.
- Educate stakeholders on Integrity Risk Management strategies and methods for effective risk identification, categorization, management, and reporting.
- Provide technical support for the RBIM program to enhance asset reliability while applying cost-benefit analysis principles.
- Participate in or lead Fitness-for-Service assessments and finite element analysis to evaluate the structural integrity of various equipment.
- Engage in investigations and reporting related to departmental incidents or loss of containment events.
- Participate in industry networks to explore and adopt recommended integrity and reliability practices in the RBIM Program.
- Engineering Degree or relevant Technologist Designation.
- Registration as an Engineer in Training or Professional Engineer in Alberta, Saskatchewan, or Manitoba.
- 2 - 5 years of relevant engineering experience in facility integrity and pipeline operations, demonstrating risk management capabilities.
- Experience in risk-based inspections, reliability assessments, root cause analysis, and corrosion control for oil operators.
- Familiarity with the design, construction, and maintenance of storage tanks and pressure equipment is an asset.
- Knowledge of API Recommended Practices.
- Certification in, or willingness to pursue certification in relevant API standards is required.
- Statistical knowledge and experience with GIS systems and risk management software (RBIM) is advantageous.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess operational changes and identify necessary corrective actions.
- Effective communication skills to convey complex technical information clearly to diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently or collaboratively in a team setting.
- Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and critical thinking abilities.
- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks under pressure.
