About the Position

The University of Ottawa is seeking a passionate and experienced Data Science Instructor to lead an engaging and informative course in the Winter 2025 semester. This part-time position offers the opportunity to share your expertise with motivated students and contribute to their development in this rapidly evolving field.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality instruction in a dynamic classroom setting, fostering a collaborative learning environment.
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with the course curriculum and industry best practices.
  • Assess student understanding through various methods, including assignments, quizzes, and exams.
  • Provide constructive feedback to students, guiding their learning and development.

Qualifications

  • A Doctorate in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent professional experience may be considered.
  • Demonstrated expertise in big data analytics, cloud computing, and data visualization techniques.
  • Experience with data preparation, mining methods, model evaluation, and multi-dimensional analysis.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with students from diverse backgrounds.

Language Requirements

Fluency in English is essential. Proficiency in a second language is an asset.
